Mission,

Marnix van de Poll sees his artistic and personal development as a source for his artistic work. His inner world transforms into universal project themes to which visitors can relate. This is also reflected in the repertoire choice for his programs, which moves from early twentieth-century music (Rachmaninov, Shostakovich, Debussy) to classical minimal music (Glass, Yoshimatsu, Ter Veldhuis, Ten Holt) to his free improvisations.

The theme of connection is strongly highlighted—it is Marnix's first priority. Marnix communicates with his audience primarily through music, which is why minimal music and improvisation are such beloved instruments in his work. He does not want to steer his audience too much but primarily creates spaces within which his listeners can make contact with their own emotions and associations. Marnix facilitates his listeners' inner world.
