About Intuitu Musici
Intuitu Musici
Original Alternative Funk Jazz Fusionists SounDoctrine first appeared at The Northeastern Ohio Gospel Music Connection in January 2002. Within two weeks, they were opening for Blues Legend and Grammy Winner Bobby “Blue” Bland.
The group then began recording and performing throughout Northern Ohio, Western Pennsylvania, Maryland, Virginia, and New York state, where they’ve maintained a loyal fan base.
SounDoctrine was nominated Best Jazz Artist by the American Gospel Music Awards.
SounDoctrine's sixth project, “Phantasmagoria,” a 21-minute Jazz Funk Opera, is the brainchild of Jere B and longtime keyboardist and SounDoctrine Music Director Cliff Barnes, which has been exclusively licensed to Cicerone Music & Art.
SounDoctrine’s award-winning debut, “Perseverance,” released on their label, Niayana Recordings, earned the band the Nu Soul Album of the Year from Soul Patrol.
Their follow-up, “SD Live!!!” was an underground smash throughout the global
Indie Artist community. The band’s third project, “Endurance,” was released to rave reviews and was chosen by Soul Patrol as the #3 best jazz-funk album.
The album offered up three tunes that garnered heavy rotation on The Weather Channel, featuring the Jim Couchenour penned “Smallmouth Bass” remixed by Smooth Jazz Legend Bob Baldwin. Their hit single “Chi Tea” remains the theme song for WFMJ-TV21’s Community Connection since its release. Additionally, in 2023, their single “YoYo” was recently licensed by WFMJ-TV21 as the theme for their News Variety program, “101 West.”
The band is listed among the prestigious Capital Jazz Fest Finalists and has performed at Cleveland’s famed Rock and Roll Museum as part of WZAK 93.1 FM’s “Rock and Soul Day.” SounDoctrine was the Host Band for Soul Patrol’s Annual Black Heritage Festival in Philadelphia, PA, and performed alongside the legendary Delfonics, Angel Woodruff, Michael Henderson, Gordon Chambers, Sonnyboy, and Marlon Saunders.
Their early music projects and subsequent Border’s Blitz Tour, documented by noted filmmaker Art Byrd, were entered as a film short into the 2004 Hollywood Black Film Festival, where the docu-bio was featured throughout the event.
SounDoctrine’s fourth release, the critically acclaimed “Inspire,” containing the hit single “Marriage,” gained immediate attention on The Weather Channel, and the song’s inclusion on the national jazz compilation “Jazz Infusion Vol II,” picked up radio play across the country.
Their fifth project, “Source,” spawned three singles, each attracting significant buzz. “After All,” Selah” and a sizzling cover of the Bobby Womack classic, “Stop On By,” featuring guitarist Eric Tyus, cracked Billboard’s National Smooth Jazz Radio Top Ten.
Emerging from a brief hiatus, the band’s founder and producer, Jere B, re-released a three-song EP of their previous tracks, “Incipience,” “Marriage,” and a single, “Obfuscating Euphemisms,” from his solo project, “Fizh & Gritz,” into the new Dolby/Atmos format. The EP, “Spirit & Soul,” available on the newly formed ImmersiveAudioAlbum.com, was remixed by the iconic
Danny Jones and mastered by famed Grammy Winner Michael Romanowski.
